Black Lacquer Art Deco Sideboard Console Table by De Coene Frères Belgium 1940s

This sideboard was crafted by De Coene Frères, one of Belgium’s most celebrated Art Deco manufactories, and dates to the 1940s – a period marked by a pursuit of form, luxury, and lasting quality.

The piece is finished in a deep black piano lacquer with an impressively lustrous surface that reflects light like a grand piano. Its strict linearity is accentuated by solid nickel-plated metal trims, masterfully embedded into routed grooves in the wood and screwed in place – not glued-on decorations, but real metal craftsmanship, freshly re-chromed and original to the piece.

At its center, the sideboard features three drawers, flanked by two side doors, all fitted with striking original Art Deco handles in polished metal. The interior is beautifully crafted and reveals clean maple woodwork with smoothly sliding drawers.

Measuring 142 cm wide, 87 cm high, and 40 cm deep (55.9 x 34.3 x 15.7 in), this refined piece serves wonderfully as a sideboard or console table, adding a distinct, luxurious flair to entryways, living rooms, or professional settings.

An authentic piece of Belgian design history – timeless, architectural, and a statement of true style.
