Art Deco Folding Screen with Gilded Panels and Painted Birds, France 1930/40s

OBJEKT ANFRAGEN

This four-panel folding screen was crafted in France during the late 1930s to early 1940s and blends classic Art Deco geometry with a subtle East-Asian influence. The gold-leaf surface is decorated with finely painted water birds, reeds and water-side vegetation, creating a balanced and serene composition characteristic of the period.

Each panel is hinged to allow flexible positioning, whether fully extended or arranged in an angled shape. This makes the screen suitable for a wide range of settings — from entrance halls and living rooms to open loft spaces where a decorative, sculptural divider can subtly structure the room.

The bases are newly crafted to match the historic proportions and were finished with authentic gold leaf. Their clear, architectural form anchors the composition and ensures that the newly made elements blend seamlessly with the original Art Deco surfaces.
